Is special relativity accepted?
Yes, nearly all scientists accept the theory of special relativity. Even our satellites in outer space must use Einstein's equations to adjust their signals and synchronize their clocks with those on Earth.

The theory also introduced the famous formula MCsq. which stated that energy is equal to the mass times the speed of light squared.

"Special relativity" is different from "general relativity," an expanded theory that Einstein would publish ten years later that would include the effects of gravity. But even by itself, special relativity included many important consequences that completely altered the world of physics.
