माँ दुर्गा की सातवीं शक्ति माँ कालरात्रि  एक वेधी जपाकर्णपूरा नग्ना खरास्थिता । लम्बोष्ठी कर्णिकाकणी तैलाभ्यक्तशरीरिणी ।। वामपदोल्लसल्लोहलताकण्टक भूषणा । वर्धनमूर्धध्वजा कृष्णा कालरात्रिर्भयंकरी ।। मां दुर्गा का 7 वां स्वरूप मां कालरात्रि आसुरी शक्तियों और दुष्टों का विनाश करने वाली हैं. दानव, दैत्य, राक्षस भूत प्रेत मां के स्मरण से ही डर कर भाग जाते हैं. मां कालरात्रि का रूप देखने में बहुत ही भयानक है. मां कालरात्रि के बाल बड़े और बिखरे हुए हैं. मां दुर्गा की सातवीं शक्ति कालरात्रि चमकीले भूषण पहनती हैं. माता रानी की तीन आंखें हैं. मां कालरात्रि का रूप उग्र है, उनका रंग सांवला है और वे गधे की सवारी करती हैं. अपने गले में खोपड़ियों की माला भी पहनती हैं और उनके चार हाथ हैं. उसके दाहिने हाथ अभय (रक्षा) और वरदान (आशीर्वाद) मुद्रा में हैं, और वह अपने दो हाथों में वज्र और उस्तरा रखती है. मां कालरात्रि की कथा  मां कालरात्रि का जन्म मां चंडी के मस्तक से हुआ था, जो चंड, मुंड और रक्तबीज की दुष्ट त्रिमूर्ति को मारने के लिए बनाई गई थी. जबकि देवी चंडी शुंभ और निशुंभ को मारने में सक्षम

शोक का पुरस्कार  मुंशी प्रेमचंद की कहानी शोक का पुरस्कार आज तीन दिन गुज़र गये. शाम का वक्त था. मैं युनिवर्सिटी हॉल से खुश-खुश चला आ रहा था. मेरे सैकड़ों दोस्त मुझे बधाइयाँ दे रहे थे. मारे खुशी के मेरी बाँछें खिली जाती थीं. मेरी ज़िन्दगी की सबसे प्यारी आरजू कि मैं एम०ए० पास हो जाऊँ, पूरी हो गयी थी और ऐसी खूबी से जिसकी मुझे तनिक भी आशा न थी. मेरा नम्बर अव्वल था. वाइस चान्सलर साहब ने खुद मुझसे हाथ मिलाया था और मुस्कराकर कहा था कि भगवान तुम्हें और भी बड़े कामों की शक्ति दे. मेरी खुशी की कोई सीमा न थी. मैं नौजवान था, सुन्दर था, स्वस्थ था, रुपये-पैसे की न मुझे इच्छा थी और न कुछ कमी, माँ-बाप बहुत कुछ छोड़ गये थे. दुनिया में सच्ची खुशी पाने के लिए जिन चीज़ों की ज़रूरत है, वह सब मुझे प्राप्त थीं. और सबसे बढक़र पहलू में एक हौसलामन्द दिल था जो ख्याति प्राप्त करने के लिए अधीर हो रहा था. घर आया, दोस्तों ने यहाँ भी पीछा न छोड़ा, दावत की ठहरी. दोस्तों की खातिरतवाजों में बारह बज गये, लेटा तो बरबस ख़याल मिस लीलावती की तरफ़ जा पहुँचा जो मेरे पड़ोस में रहती थीं और जिसने मेरे साथ बी०ए० का डिप्लोमा हास

'रामधारी सिंह 'दिनकर ' '  (23 सितम्‍बर 1908- 24 अप्रैल 1974)  रामधारी सिंह 'दिनकर हिन्दी के एक प्रमुख लेखक, कवि व निबन्धकार थे। वे आधुनिक युग के श्रेष्ठ वीर रस के कवि के रूप में स्थापित हैं। राष्ट्रवाद अथवा राष्ट्रीयता को इनके काव्य की मूल-भूमि मानते हुए इन्हे 'युग-चारण' व 'काल के चारण' की संज्ञा दी गई है। दिनकर' स्वतन्त्रता पूर्व एक विद्रोही कवि के रूप में स्थापित हुए और स्वतन्त्रता के बाद 'राष्ट्रकवि' के नाम से जाने गये। वे छायावादोत्तर कवियों की पहली पीढ़ी के कवि थे। एक ओर उनकी कविताओं में ओज, विद्रोह, आक्रोश और क्रान्ति की पुकार है तो दूसरी ओर कोमल शृंगारिक भावनाओं की अभिव्यक्ति है। इन्हीं दो प्रवृत्तियों का चरम उत्कर्ष हमें उनकी 'कुरुक्षेत्र' और 'उर्वशी' नामक कृतियों में मिलता है। दिनकर' जी का जन्म 24 सितंबर 1908 को बिहार के बेगूसराय जिले के सिमरिया गाँव में भूमिहार ब्राह्मण परिवार में हुआ था। उन्होंने पटना विश्वविद्यालय से इतिहास राजनीति विज्ञान में बीए किया। उन्होंने संस्कृत, बांग्ला, अंग्रेजी और उर
